Kansas and the University of North Carolina will square off in the Championship Game of 2022 March Madness.
In the first semifinal, Kansas rallied past Villanova (81-65) and advanced to the Final. Kansas started the game on a 10-0 run and never looked back.
Playing excellent on both ends, they led by 11 at halftime (40-29). Villanova never recovered and the hosts went on to win the contest.
Kansas hit 13 of 24 from beyond the arc and scored 16 more points in the paint, cruising to the victory.
In the second semi-final, University of North Carolina stood tall and defeated Duke in a late thriller (77-81).
The Tar Heels ended Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski’s career with a loss in Coach K’s 13th trip to the semifinals.
This was the third matchup this year between the two teams and the rivalry’s first-ever NCAA Tournament showdown.
With 12 ties, 18 lead changes and both teams trading makes down the stretch, University of North Carolina survived a late thriller and advanced to the Championship Game, which will take place in New Orleans on Monday.
