Kansas and North Carolina became the last two teams to punch their ticket for the NCAA Final-Four clinching respective Elite Eight wins Sunday evening.
The Jayhawks outscored Miami 47-15, in the second half to secure the win with 76-50. Kansas erased a six-point halftime deficit to reach its first Final-Four since 2018. The JayHawks showed up at the right time as Ochai Agbaji led the winning side with 18 points.
Going into the second half it was, ‘Lid’s going come off at some point. Just keep guarding and focusing on guarding better. Then, the offense is going to come,'” Agbaji said, via ESPN.
North Carolina downed St. Peter’s 69-49 in Philadelphia and set a colossal matchup with Duke in the Final Four. St. Peter’s team, which made history a few days ago, could not match the UNC intensity.
Armando Bacot posted a monster double-double of 20 points and 22 rebounds. Brady Manek added 19 for the winning side. North Carolina coach Hubert Davis clinched a Final Four bid in his first season on the sideline at UNC.
“I haven’t thought about it at all,” Davis said of the matchup vs Duke, via ESPN. “The only thing on my mind is celebrating with the rest of the players on what just happened today.”
