John Holland joins Crvena Zvezda on a one-year deal

Crvena Zvezda completed another move in the offseason as the Serbian powerhouse signed veteran forward John Holland, per the club’s official statement. Holland is coming to Belgrade with a ton of experience in the NBA and Europe.

He spent last season in Kazan and Bursa, where he helped the team complete a historic run to the EuroCup Final. After several seasons in his native Puerto Rico, Holland returned to Europe in 2019 and played for Hapoel Tel Aviv and UNICS before joining Bursaspor.

After a completing a four-year stint at Boston University, Holland played for several clubs in France and Spain. He had a short two-year stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he appeared in 25 NBA games and registered 2.2 points per.

He helped Bursaspor in eight EuroCup appearances, averaging 1.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.4 assists. He registered 14.2 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in five Turkish BSL games. Holland will return to EuroLeague next season after leaving UNICS.

Holland is the third signing for Zvezda this offseason after Nemanja Nedovic and Hassan Martin. The team will continue working towards improving the team ahead of the 2022-23 campaign in the domestic level and the EuroLeague.
