Italy announces 15-man preliminary roster for FIBA BWC Qualifiers

Italy officially announced on Tuesday its preliminary roster for the upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers.

Achille Polonara, who won the Turkish League title with Fenerbahce, headlines the roster, which will fight for the qualification for the second round.

Amedeo Della Valle, Marco Spissu, Stefano Tonut, Diego Flaccadori, Matteo Spagnolo, Mattia Udom, Alessandro Lever, Guglielmo Caruso, Michele Vitali, Achille Polonara, Luca Severini, Leonardo Arinze Okeke, Nicola Akele, Tomas Woldetensae, John Petrucelli are included in the 15-man squad, selected by the new head coach Gianmarco Pozzecco.

Italy will play Slovenia in an exhibition game on June 25 and will take on the Netherlands in the finale of the first round of the Qualifiers on July 4.
