The second EuroLeague game that’s taking place tonight, between ASVEL Villeurbanne and Armani Milano at Astroballe, is a really weird game.
The facts are that ASVEL has already been eliminated from the playoffs and that Armani has the home-court advantage in the postseason. But, the Italians don’t know their final spot yet.
If they win today in France and Real Madrid loses to Bayern in Madrid, Armani will finish 3rd, behind Olympiacos and in front of the “Whites”! That means they will avoid Efes, but obviously, it’s not up to their hand.
If we want to speak logically, Milano could possible believe that they’ll finish 4th (thinking that Real is winning tomorrow). So, will they try to take the W today in Lyon?
Real Madrid, knowing tonight’s results, will have the chance to choose their opponent. But, will they? That makes tonight’s game really difficult and weird.
If we combine that with the fact that ASVEL plays its last home game in the regular season, wouldn’t they want to win in order to please their fans and finish the year in a positive way?
Also, we can’t forget the difficulties that Armani has when it faces ASVEL. The Italians have only L when they visit Astroballe. But, I think that they will try to win this game, only hoping for a Bavarian win in Madrid that will allow them to finish in the third spot.
For playing more safely, I will choose a +5.5 points handicap for Armani, since I can find this option near 1.50.
