Fenerbahce couldn’t return to the winning track and suffered its second straight loss in the EuroLeague.
This time, the Turks lost to Crvena Zvezda in a late thriller in Belgrade (74-69). The visitors had the chance to take the win, but missed crucial plays in crunch time.
On the other hand, Zvezda relied on its defense and a crucial two-pointer from Nate Wolters to seal the deal.
“More or less, right, we are again trying to find the game shape that we had and took us to some good wins.
It is a tough loss for us, but the next game is coming up in three days, so we have to be ready,” Fenerbahce head coach Sasa Djordjevic said afterwards.
The Serbians recovered from their loss to Panathinaikos on Friday and improved to 10-15. However, they are still three wins away from the eighth place and need a winning streak to reach the playoffs.
On the other hand, Fenerbahce dropped to 12-12. Yet, they still have a good chance to make it to the postseason.
Next week, Crvena Zvezda will host Baskonia, while Fenerbahce will face Anadolu Efes. Both games will take place on Thursday (March 3).
