Fenerbahce gets eliminated from EuroLeague playoffs for the first time in 8 years

Fenerbahce will not compete in the EuroLeague playoffs for the first time since the 2013/14 season.
After the loss to ALBA Berlin on Tuesday and the results of Round 33, the Turkish powerhouse was officially eliminated from the postseason.
Being in a free fall lately and with six straight defeats, Sasha Djordjevic and his players dropped to 9-16 and failed to maintain a playoff push until the end.
2013/14 was the only season the Turkish powerhouse didn’t advance to the playoffs. Since then, they reached the Final 4 five straight years (2015-2019).
In 2020, they were eighth when the EuroLeague decided to cancel the season because of the Covid-19 pandemic. And last year, they advanced to the playoffs, but CSKA went on to sweep the series (3-0).
Fenerbahce will face Bayern Munich (home), Panathinaikos (home) and Maccabi Tel-Aviv (away) in its remaining games.
