FC Barcelona head coach Sarunas Jasikevicius shared his thoughts on the EuroLeague Final-4 semifinal vs arch-rival Real Madrid. The EuroLeague legend said Real is going to be hungry after losing to FC Barcelona in both the international and domestic level this season.
“We’ve beaten them in the last few games and this is against us because Madrid will be very hungry against us”, he said, per Marca. (h/t to Eurohoops.net).
Barcelona has won the two EuroLeague regular season matchups vs their rivals. They also won the two regular season clashes in the Liga Endesa this season. According to Saras, the 4-0 record will make the Los Blancos hungrier.
“They arrive at the best moment of the season and they are playin very well, they are moving the ball very well. They have veteran players with experience and they know what they have to do. It is a Final Four and it has to be difficult”.
The Lithuanian also revealed his team will have all the players available in Belgrade, including Cory Higgins. Higgins recently returned from an injury, and while he will not be at 100 percent, his presence is important for the Catalans.
“Today everyone has trained except Sergi (Martínez), who has a cold. Cory (Higgins) is going to play because his experience is very important. It is clear that he cannot reach one hundred per cent. But we will have all of the players available”.
Barcelona faces Real Madrid in the second EuroLeague semifinal with the hope of returning to the championship game for the second year in the row.
