Evan Fournier confirmed he will play with France in the 2022 EuroBasket this upcomimg September. The Knicks’ guard will be an important addition to Vincent Collet’s squad, especially after Nic Batum and Nando De Colo opted out of the competition.
With the New York Knicks failing to make the playoffs, Fournier will have the time to rest and then join France in September for the competition. The veteran guard/forward confirmed the news Sunday night via Fred Katz of the Athletic.

The 2020 Olympic silver medalists were placed in the first stage of the EuroBasket in the Cologne group along with Germany, Slovenia, Lithuania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Hungary.
The competition will be played between 1-18 September in four different European countries. Fournier played 79 games this season, averaging 14.2 points with the New York Knicks.
After making last season’s playoff with Boston, Fournier could not lead the Knicks to the postseason despite New York’s great run in the 2020-21 campaign.
The scoring guard has won one silver and three bronze medals with the French NT in various international competition. He was part of the all-tournament team in the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
