FC Bayern Munich has already started working towards building its roster for the next season and starting guard Nick Weiler-Babb seems to be in the team’s plans for the 2022-23 campaign in the EuroLeague and the German BBL.
According to Robert Heusel of BIG Deutschland, the American guard is expected to sign a new deal and remain with the Bavarians. Weiler-Babb has been upgraded to becoming a guard this season after starting his career as a forward.
The Texas-born player is in the process to get a German passport according to Heusel. He averaged 6.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.9 assists through 29 games during the 2021-22 EuroLeague season.
He appeared in 27 games in the German BBL and averaged 6.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists per contest. He helped Bayern reached the easyCredit BBL finals, but Andrea Trinchieri’s team fell short losing to rivals ALBA Berlin.
Bayern has already parted ways with long-time captain Nihad Djedovic and shooting Darrun Hilliard, who joined Maccabi Tel Aviv this week. The Bavarians have yet to announce a new signing, but it’s reported that they are close to a deal with forward Niklas Wimberg.
