EuroLeague powerhouses Fenerbahce and Olympiacos are interested in Lokomotiv Kuban’s big man Johnathan Motley.
The American power forward spent the previous season with Kuban, however he is expected to part ways with the club. Because of the Russia-Ukraine war, Lokomotiv will not play in the EuroCup next season.
Motley played nine EuroCup games last season with Lokomotiv, averaging 21.2 points (63% from the field), 7 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.1 blocks.
According to Eurohoops.net, both Fenerbahce and Olympiacos have showed interest to sign him, however there is no offer yet. Both EuroLeague powerhouses will seek to add a couple of big men to their roster, and Motley could be one of them.
In other EuroLeague rumors, FC Barcelona is expected to re-tool its roster after failing to win the EuroLeague despite being the top favorite at the start of the season. The Catalans will revamp their front-online and seem to have already a deal in place with ALBA Berlin’s big Oscar da Silva.
According to Robert Heusel of BIG-Basketball in Deutschland, the EuroLeague rookie sensation will opt out of his deal with ALBA and join the Spanish giants on a multi-year deal. The German side will be compensated.
Oscar da Silva had a great rookie season under head coach Israel Gonzalez as he appeared in 33 EuroLeague games averaging 8.8 points and 3.5 rebounds shooting 55 percent from the field and 62.4 percent on 2-pointers in 18 minutes per game.
