Bayern Munich is close to a deal with Niners Chemnitz forward Niklas Wimberg, Robert Heusel reports. Wimberg has been part of Niners since 2019 and helped the team make the playoffs last season.
He averaged 6.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 23 German BBL games. Wimberg is expected to be the first signing in the offseason for Bayern after losing to ALBA Berlin in the league finals a few days ago.
Jan Niklas Wimberg has also played for EWE Baskets Juniors, Rockets Gotha, and Eisbaren Bremerhaven during his professional career. He is also part of the German national team. He appeared in Tokyo Olympics Tournament and the FIBA windows of the EuroBasket 2022.

In other rumors around the European top flight, Panathinaikos and Olympiacos have interest in Chinanu Onuaku, Aris Barkas of Eurohoops reports. The Israeli League MVP is working out for several NBA teams, but he could also be on the mix for EuroLeague clubs.
Panathinaikos already contacted the side of the player, however there’s no advanced talks between the two sides for now, Barkas reports. Onuaku averaged 15.7 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists through 26 appearances with Bnei Herzeliya.
