EuroLeague Basketball officially announced on Saturday the calendar for the playoffs, which will tip off on April 19.
Pairings are already set for two of the four best-of-five series. FC Barcelona, which finished first in the regular season, will face off against eighth-placed FC Bayern Munich, while regular season runner-up Olympiacos Piraeus will battle against seventh-placed AS Monaco, a playoffs debutant.
The rest of the EuroLeague playoff field consists of third-place Armani Milano, fourth-place Real Madrid, the defending champion Anadolu Efes and Maccabi Tel-Aviv.
The exact parings between those four teams won’t be determined until Wednesday, April 13, after the final regular season game, in which Maccabi hosts already-eliminated Fenerbahce in a rescheduled EuroLeague Round 23 contest.
The EuroLeague playoffs action gets underway at Mediolanum Forum in Italy at 19:00 CEST on Tuesday, April 19, when Milano will host whichever team between Maccabi and Efes ends up in sixth place. Later on Tuesday, top-seeded FC Barcelona hosts FC Bayern Munich for the start of their series at 21:00 CEST.
The next night’s first fixture will be Game 1 of the series between Olympiacos and Monaco, which will tip off at 20:00 CEST.
The slate of Game 1s will finish later on Wednesday in the Spanish capital, where Real will welcome the fifth-place finisher, either Efes or Maccabi. That game will tip off at 20:45 CEST.
