Elie Okobo has sights set on reaching the EuroLeague Final Four with Monaco

Elie Okobo has his sights set on reaching the EuroLeague Final Four, after signing a two-year deal with Monaco.

This is what the French guard told the Monegasques’ official website when asking about his decision to join the club.

“Monaco is a very competitive team, we have seen it in the EuroLeague. They were very close to go to the Final Four.

The Final Four is something I want. And I know that this team has the capabilities,” Okobo stated.

The 24-year old guard spent the previous season with ASVEL Villeurbanne, where he averaged 14.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 27 EuroLeague games.

He also led ASVEL to the French League title, after defeating Monaco in the Finals (3-2). Elie Okobo also noted that reaching the EuroLeague Final Four and playing in the French League Finals are his targets for next season.

“I decided to choose Monaco, because of the performance shown last year in the EuroLeague, there are big goals for this coming season.

To go even further in the EuroLeague, and win the title in the French league. I think I can be a piece that can help with that.

In any case, I want to be part of such a project with great ambitions, and the desire to always raise the team to the highest level,” the French League champion with ASVEL said.

Aside from the two-year deal with Elie Okobo, the Monegasques also extended Mike James’ contract for two years.
