Efes cruises past Zalgiris to bounce back from two-game slide

Anadolu Efes cruised past Zalgiris Kaunas 71-85 to a wire-to-wire win for EuroLeague Round 30.

The hosts led 30-41 at halftime and started the third quarter on a 0-10 run to put the game out of reach early.

The EuroLeague reigning champions were able to keep up the pace in the third quarter finishing with a 25-point lead (40-65) entering the last 10 minutes of the game.

Zalgiris cut the deficit in the fourth quarter outscoring the visitors 31-20. However, they could not get any closer and fell to 7-22. Tyler Cavanaugh scored a career-high 22 points for the home side.

Efes improved to 15-14 after its Thursday victory. EuroLeague MVP Vasilije Micic scored 20 points and dished 7 assists, and Rodrigue Beaubois added 15 points.

Key of the game: Efes shot 42 percent from beyond the arc and committed just eight turnovers in 40 minutes of play.

MVP: Vasilje Micic had 20 points and seven assists for a PIR of 21, as the visitors snapped a two-game slide.

Efes will host Real Madrid next week for EuroLeague Round 31. Zalgiris will remain at home to play against LDCL ASVEL.
