Dimitris Itoudis confirmed he is leaving CSKA Moscow after 8 years. The Greek head coach officially announced his decision after the end of Game 7 of the VTB League Finals vs Zenit Saint Petersburg.
“We decided with the club to go different ways. But I don’t say goodbye. I say ‘see you around’. Because CSKA is a great club. With a great tradition and a great future.
The only thing that I know is that as soon I’m going back to Greece I have the national team. Immediately. That’s my next club.
Just to clarify: My next club is the Greek national team. We came to this mutual understanding with Andrey Vatutin,” Itoudis told media postgame.
Dimitris Itoudis spent eight years with CSKA Moscow and won the VTB League title six times. He also claimed the EuroLeague championship in 2016 and 2019.
Itoudis will coach Greece in the 2022 FIBA EuroBasket, while he has been linked with a move to Fenerbahce.
