Bayern Munich is extending Augustine Rubit’s contract until the summer of 2023, the club announced Wednesday. Rubit, 32, carrying in the experience of three seasons in the EuroLeague will continue in his starting role in Munich.
Rubit started with Tigers Tubingen (2014–15), then moved to Ulm Ratiopharm (2015-17). He then joined Brose Bamberg for two seasons (2017-19) before joining Olympiacos, where he averaged 8.0 points and 4.0 rebounds in 31 games.

Rubit was signed by Zalgiris Kaunas the following season (2020–21), where he averaged 8.1 points and 4.2 rebounds in the EuroLeague. Last season, Rubit averaged 10.5 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists in the EuroLeague for Bayern.
The Bavarians made the playoffs for the second consecutive time, and Rubit’s play was a huge factor in that. At the domestic level, Rubit produced 10.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.5 blocks per contest over 33 appearances.
Prior to the South Alabama standout extension, Bayern officially announced the team parted ways with big man Leon Radosevic, confirming what agent Misko Raznatovic relayed Tuesday about the veteran center leaving Munich.
