Bayern loses second straight; will face Barcelona in the playoffs

Bayern Munich suffered its second straight loss and will now face Barcelona in the EuroLeague playoffs.

The Bavarians failed to return to the winning track and lost to Anadolu Efes at Sinan Erdem Dome (81-76). It was a late thriller that was decided in the final seconds. The visitors missed key plays in crunch time to win the game and Efes stood tall to seal the deal.

Four players scored in double figures for the winners, with Shane Larkin leading the way with 20 points. On the other hand, Augustine Rubit had a team-high 15 points for the losing squad.

Bayern dropped to 13-14 in the standings and can’t climb higher than the eighth place. As a result, they will take on Barcelona in the postseason.

On the contrary, Anadolu Efes impoved to 16-11 and is fifth on the table. If Maccabi Tel-Aviv loses to Barcelona on Thursday, then the reigning champions will secure the fifth spot.

Both Bayern Munich and Anadolu Efes have clinched their spot in the EuroLeague playoffs since last week.
