Baskonia nails third straight victory; prevails over ALBA Berlin

Baskonia continued its late season surge, prevailing over ALBA Berlin 85-68. Baskonia used a late run in the fourth quarter to cruise past the German champions to achieve victory in round 30 of EuroLeague.

This was the third straight victory for the Spanish club, which recovered for an eight-game losing streak.

Rokas Giedraitis led the winners with 22 points, while Wade Baldwin had 16 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds. ALBA saw his four-game winning streak coming to an end to fall to 11-17.

The Spanish powerhouse improved to 10-19. Both teams were close for the first three quarters. Baskonia took a 62-48 lead in the third quarter, but ALBA finished the quarter with a 2-12 run to cut the lead to four after three quarters (64-60).

The home side was able to put together a run in the fourth quarter to finish the game on a 21-8 run.


Key of the game: Baskonia shot 39 percent from deep, while they got ALBA to shoot 26 percent from beyond the arc.

MVP: Wade Baldwin IV had a great game for the Spanish club with a PIR of 29. He finished the contest with 16 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds.

Next game: Baskonia will host Fenebahce next week. ALBA Berlin will return home to play FC Barcelona in round 31.
