The second semifinal of the EuroLeague Final Four is Real Madrid against Barcelona! A titans’ clash between two legendary teams. For many people, this could be the Championship Game of the competition.
For the “Whites”, it has been a really weird season. It started in the best way, by winning the “Supercopa” against their rivals, but then they started their free fall that finished almost 3 weeks ago, when they qualified for the Final Four against Maccabi.
In the meantime, they lost 5 times to Barcelona. Twice in the the ACB, twice in the Euroleague and in the Copa Del Rey Final. Not only that, but they finished in the 4th spot of the standings. However, they had no problem to qualify for the Final Four.
Nobody can underestimate this team. The 10-time EuroLeague winners. Even the theoretically best team of the regular season, Barcelona. Even though they defeated them five consecutive times.
The Catalans are ready to win their third title, but they know they’ll have a long way to go. They expect Real Madrid’s reaction after the consecutive defeats. I think we’ ll have a derby in this semifinal, too.
Both teams had a member in the All-Euroleague First Team – Nikola Mirotic and Walter Tavares – with the Spanish super star being also the MVP of the regular season.
A tough battle is expected here too, I think that we’ll have an ambiguous game till the end. My opinion is that Barcelona will go through and qualify to the Final, but I would rather pick a +5.5 points handicap for Real Madrid, an option that I can find in an 1.65 odd.
Also, I believe that Mirotic can pass the 15.5 point line (1.87) combined with over 5.5 assists for Nick Calathes (1.60) and over 2.5 rebounds for Adam Hanga (1.60) for my fun bet.
Last but not least, the possible MVP’S of the Final Four, depending on the team that will win the trophy, are Mirotic, Sloukas, Vezenkov, Larkin, Micic and Tavares. In my eyes, the most likely ones are Mirotic, Vezenkov, Micic.
