AS Monaco basket clinched its first EuroLeague playoff appearance in the history of the club after Efes downed ALBA Berlin Friday night.
Roca team rolled past Olimpia Milano on Thursday to climb to the no.7 of the 2021-22 EuroLeague standings.
The team headlined by superstar guard Mike James secured its first playoff berth in its maiden season in EuroLeague.
They became the first team since Bilbao, which achieved a playoff berth during the team’s first season (2012) in the top European basketball competition.
The 2021 EuroCup champions hold a 2-0 tiebreaker advantage over both Bayern Munich and Crvena Zvezda, and they’re safe from any possible 2 or 3-team tie in the standings.
Monaco holds a 14-13 record with one game remaining for them in the EuroLeague regular season. The Pro A team will play German champions ALBA Berlin at home for Round 34.
